Uzbekistan has made its debut at Coursera Connect 2025 — and achieved a remarkable milestone.
💡 The IT Education Association, together with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was recognized as a Global Finalist of Coursera’s prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award 2025.
The delegation was led by Deputy Minister Rustam Karimjonov, who also met with Coursera CEO Greg Hart to discuss: Introducing Coursera courses in schools and government organizations, Developing AI-powered Uzbek-language voice-overs, Exploring opportunities to host a Coursera event in Uzbekistan.
📊 Today, more than 600,000 users are registered on Uzbekcoders.uz under the One Million Uzbek Coders project. In just the first half of 2025, nearly 400,000 young people completed Coursera courses and earned certificates.
🌍 This recognition underscores Uzbekistan’s growing influence in the global digital education space and its commitment to expanding opportunities for youth.
📌 The IT Education Association continues its collaboration with Coursera to make world-class courses accessible in Uzbekistan — including expanding offerings in the Uzbek language.

Coursera
Coursera is a global massive open online course provider. It was founded in 2012 by Stanford University computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, certifications, and degrees in various subjects. As of 2023, more than 300 universities and companies were offering courses through Coursera, and by 2024, the number of courses available had risen to approximately 7,000.
CompTIA
The Computing Technology Industry Association, commonly known as CompTIA, is an American non-profit trade association that issues professional certifications for the information technology (IT) industry. It is considered one of the IT industry's top trade associations. Based in Downers Grove, Illinois, CompTIA issues vendor-neutral professional certifications in over 120 countries. The organization releases industry studies to track industry trends and changes. Over 2.2 million people have earned CompTIA certifications since the association was established.
IT Ladies
IT Ladies is an initiative aimed at empowering women in the field of information technology. Launched to address the gender gap in the tech sector, IT Ladies provides women with opportunities for training, networking, and mentorship. IT Ladies aims to equip women with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue successful careers in IT and contribute to the growing tech industry in Uzbekistan.
