As part of the preparation for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), 100 talented students have been granted one-year access to Coursera Professional Courses.

From December 3 to 12, training camps are being conducted for 100 of the most gifted students selected from various regions of the country, as part of the preparation for the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026). The program features intensive training sessions delivered by experienced international and local experts.

With the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and Ucell, all participants received one-year subscription licenses to professional courses on the Coursera online learning platform.

This initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening the international-level knowledge and skills of young talents.

Discussing opportunities for girls in STEM with Riga TechGirls

Representatives of the IT Education Association held a meaningful meeting with Riga TechGirls, Latvia’s first and largest community dedicated to empowering women through digital skills and technology education.

Riga TechGirls shared their experience in driving women’s participation in STEM, including their mentorship programs, workshops, and initiatives that support career transition into tech. We, in turn, presented the rapid development of Uzbekistan’s IT sector, the growing opportunities in tech education for girls, and the mission of IT Ladies Uzbekistan — a community that brings together ambitious young women pursuing careers in technology.

🔹 During the discussion, we explored: • the current landscape of STEM education for girls in Uzbekistan; • national digital initiatives and learning pathways; • Riga TechGirls’ best practices and expertise; • potential collaboration opportunities; • joint ideas for knowledge exchange and international growth.

GDG Tashkent DevFest 2025, a major event for the IT community of Uzbekistan, was successfully held.

On December 6, the annual DevFest 2025 event, organized by Google Developer Group (GDG) Tashkent, was held at the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace in Tashkent.

The event brought together more than 30 international speakers from countries including the United States, Poland, Romania, Russia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as representatives of leading technology companies such as Google, Yandex, Pinterest, Bank of America, and others. With over 5,000 participants, the festival became one of the largest events within Uzbekistan’s IT community.

In his opening remarks, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov highlighted the continuous development of DevFest over the years, the steady growth in the number of participants, and the strong support for such initiatives driven by the attention of the country’s leadership to the IT sector. He also emphasized the important role of young people in acquiring knowledge and contributing to the formation of Uzbekistan as an emerging IT hub.

The event also featured a speech by U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick, who noted that such technological gatherings strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States and create new opportunities for young professionals.
